Our Story
The Microcap Coalition began in 2026 when a group of entrepreneurs, investors and advisers recognized that small public companies were increasingly squeezed by regulations designed for larger firms. Micro‑cap stocks—companies with market capitalizations below $250 million—play a vital role in bringing innovation to market, yet they face unique challenges in raising capital and maintaining listings.
What Is a Micro‑Cap Company?
A micro‑cap company is a publicly traded firm with a market capitalization under about $300 million. These companies often represent cutting‑edge sectors like biotech, clean technology, defense and advanced materials. While micro‑caps offer significant growth potential, their small size makes them sensitive to market swings and regulatory burdens.
Why We Exist
Foster Collaboration: By uniting companies, advisers and capital providers, we create a strong collective voice.
Promote Fair Listing Standards: We advocate against rules—such as Nasdaq’s proposed hard $5 million MVLS floor—that could suspend trading based on temporary price drops.
Support Capital Formation: We push for policies that improve access to public markets so innovative businesses can attract investment and create jobs.
Educate Stakeholders: We provide resources to help entrepreneurs navigate the path to going public and to inform investors about micro‑cap opportunities and risks.
Our coalition exists to promote fair listing standards, support capital formation and educate stakeholders. By uniting companies, advisers and capital providers, we amplify our voice in Washington and on Wall Street.
